Important limitations of identity, credential and profile verification on TruLink

Draft pending final legal review, effective date will be set at launch.

TruLink uses verification to improve trust and reduce obvious fraud. Verification is a useful signal, but it is not a guarantee. This Disclaimer explains what users should - and should not - infer from a TruLink verification indicator.

1. What “Verified” Means

A verification badge or status means that TruLink or a verification service completed one or more specified checks using information available at the time. The exact check may vary by user type, service category, feature, market and verification level.

2. Checks May Include

  • Email or mobile-number confirmation.
  • Identity-document review and/or identity matching.
  • Business registration or business-contact checks.
  • Selected licence, certification, qualification or reference checks.
  • Profile information review, fraud indicators or manual trust-and-safety review.
  • Other third-party or public-source checks where lawful and appropriate.

3. What Verification Does Not Mean

  • It is not a guarantee that the person is trustworthy, honest, safe or suitable for every service.
  • It is not a guarantee of workmanship, reliability, financial standing, insurance coverage or future behaviour.
  • It is not a substitute for customer or business due diligence for regulated, high-value or safety-critical work.
  • It does not mean TruLink continuously monitors every credential, licence, criminal record, insurance policy, address, business status or personal circumstance.
  • It does not make TruLink the employer, agent, supervisor, insurer or guarantor of the verified user.

4. Timing and Expiry

Verification reflects information available at a point in time. Documents may expire, licences may be suspended, circumstances may change and third-party data may be delayed or incomplete. TruLink may display a verification date, expiry or re-verification requirement and may remove a badge at any time if information becomes outdated, inconsistent or unreliable.

5. User Responsibility

Before entering a transaction, users should consider the nature and risk of the work, review current profile/review information, confirm relevant licences and insurance directly where important, agree scope and price, and use reasonable safety precautions. For high-risk or regulated work, users should independently confirm the professional or legal qualifications required for the specific task.

6. Verification Errors and Fraud

No verification process eliminates identity fraud, forged documents, database errors or impersonation. If you believe a badge or verification statement is inaccurate or being misused, report it promptly to TruLink. TruLink may suspend the account while the matter is reviewed.

7. Third-Party Verification Providers

TruLink may use specialist providers. Their checks may rely on documents, databases, biometric matching or other methods subject to separate technical limitations and, where applicable, their own privacy notices. TruLink remains responsible for selecting and managing such providers in a reasonable manner but cannot guarantee the accuracy of every external source.

8. Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TruLink is not liable merely because a verified user later acts improperly or performs poorly, provided TruLink did not knowingly misrepresent the verification or fail to act reasonably on material information it actually received. Mandatory rights and liability that cannot legally be excluded remain unaffected.

9. Related Policies
