Customer Terms
Terms for customers requesting or purchasing services through TruLink connections
These Customer Terms apply when you use TruLink to find, contact, request a quotation from, book or otherwise engage a provider.
1. TruLink's Role
TruLink helps you discover and connect with providers. Unless TruLink expressly states otherwise, the service agreement is between you and the provider. TruLink does not set the provider's work methods, guarantee the outcome, or automatically assume responsibility for the provider's acts or omissions.
2. Your Responsibilities Before Hiring
- Describe your request accurately, including location, timing, access constraints and known hazards.
- Review the provider profile, ratings and available verification information and ask any additional questions needed for your specific task.
- Confirm scope, price, materials, deposits, timetable, cancellation terms, warranty/rectification expectations and payment method in writing where practical.
- Confirm any licence, insurance or specialist qualification that is important or legally required for the work.
- Provide a safe and lawful work environment and disclose relevant site risks.
3. Access, Safety and Respect
Treat providers respectfully and do not discriminate unlawfully, harass, threaten or pressure a provider to perform unsafe or unlawful work. If a provider attends your property, secure valuables and animals where appropriate and provide reasonable access to the agreed work area.
4. Pricing and Direct Payment
Provider prices are set by providers unless a feature clearly states otherwise. TruLink does not guarantee that a quoted price is the lowest available. Where you pay the provider directly, keep receipts or transfer records. Do not send funds to an unknown third party or account where the payment instructions appear suspicious.
5. Deposits and Material Purchases
Before paying a deposit, understand what it covers, whether it is refundable, what evidence will be provided for material purchases, and what happens if the job is cancelled. For higher-value work, consider staged payments tied to defined milestones rather than full advance payment.
6. Cancellations and Changes
If you need to cancel or change a booking, notify the provider promptly. A provider may have reasonable cancellation or call-out terms disclosed before the booking. Any dispute over a direct payment is primarily between you and the provider, subject to applicable law and the Refund/Payment Policy.
7. Problems with a Service
Raise concerns with the provider as soon as reasonably possible and allow a fair opportunity to understand and, where appropriate, rectify the issue. Preserve relevant messages, quotations, photos, invoices and payment records. You may submit a complaint to TruLink for platform review, but TruLink's complaint process is not a court, regulator or guarantee of reimbursement.
8. Reviews
Reviews must reflect a genuine interaction and your honest experience. Do not publish knowingly false statements, private information unrelated to the service, threats, discriminatory content or extortionate demands. The Review/Complaint Policy applies.
9. No Guarantee of Verification
A “verified” badge means TruLink completed selected checks described by the platform at the relevant time. It does not guarantee future conduct, competence for every task, insurance, licence status after the check date or quality of work. Review the Verification Disclaimer before relying on a badge.
10. High-Risk or Regulated Work
For electrical, gas, structural, medical, security, transport or other regulated/high-risk work, you are responsible for confirming that the person engaged holds the licences, permits, approvals, qualifications and insurance required for the specific service. Do not rely solely on a TruLink profile.
11. Platform Misuse
Customers must not use TruLink for fraudulent requests, unlawful activities, fake leads, harassment, competitor sabotage, review manipulation, non-payment schemes or requests designed to obtain free work without a genuine intention to engage a provider.
12. Liability and Other Terms
The Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Refund/Payment Policy, Verification Disclaimer and Review/Complaint Policy apply to your use of TruLink. Nothing in these Customer Terms removes consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Governing Law
These Customer Terms are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago. The dispute-resolution provisions in the Terms of Use apply.
