Provider Code of Conduct
Minimum professional, safety and trust standards for providers on TruLink
Every TruLink provider is expected to protect the trust of customers, business partners and the wider marketplace. This Code sets the minimum conduct standards for maintaining a provider account.
1. Be Honest
- Use your real identity and truthful business/profile information.
- Do not exaggerate qualifications, licences, insurance, experience, availability or past work.
- Use genuine portfolio photos and testimonials you are authorised to use.
- Tell TruLink promptly if a verification document or credential expires, is suspended or is no longer accurate.
2. Be Clear About Price and Scope
- Explain what your quote includes and excludes before starting.
- Disclose call-out charges, deposits, material costs and cancellation terms clearly.
- Obtain approval before carrying out material additional work or increasing the agreed price.
- Provide a reasonable record of payment and charges where appropriate.
3. Be Reliable
- Respond to confirmed commitments professionally.
- Arrive at the agreed time or advise the customer promptly if delayed.
- Do not repeatedly accept work you cannot reasonably perform.
- Notify the customer as early as possible if cancellation becomes unavoidable.
4. Work Safely and Within Your Competence
- Perform only services you are competent and legally permitted to perform.
- Maintain required licences, permits and certifications.
- Use appropriate tools, protective equipment and safe work practices.
- Stop and discuss the situation if conditions become unsafe or materially different from what was agreed.
- Do not knowingly bypass safety systems, building requirements or lawful regulatory requirements.
5. Respect People and Property
- Treat customers, workers, business partners and TruLink staff respectfully.
- No harassment, threats, intimidation, violence, sexual misconduct or unlawful discrimination.
- Protect customer property and report accidental damage promptly.
- Enter only areas reasonably necessary for the work and respect household/workplace rules.
- Never take, use or remove property without permission.
6. Protect Privacy
- Use customer contact details only for legitimate service-related purposes and lawful follow-up.
- Do not post customer addresses, contact details, access codes, IDs, financial information or private conversations.
- Do not photograph or record inside a customer's premises without permission unless necessary to document the work or a dispute.
- Secure any records containing customer or business information.
7. Deal Fairly with Complaints
- Listen to genuine concerns and respond professionally.
- Where appropriate, offer reasonable rectification, completion, replacement, price adjustment or refund.
- Do not threaten or harass a customer over a complaint.
- Do not condition a legitimate remedy on removal of an honest review.
- Cooperate with reasonable TruLink requests for information during a complaint review.
8. Keep Reviews Genuine
- Do not create fake bookings or reviews.
- Do not pay for positive reviews or arrange reciprocal false reviews.
- Do not ask family, staff or associates to review work they did not genuinely receive.
- You may invite genuine customers to review you, but must not dictate the content or retaliate for criticism.
9. Follow the Law
You are responsible for complying with laws applicable to your service, business registration, taxes, National Insurance, employment of assistants, consumer obligations, licences, permits, transport, environmental rules, intellectual property and data protection. TruLink does not provide a licence to carry out regulated work.
10. No Platform Abuse
- Do not impersonate TruLink or claim to be employed or certified by TruLink unless expressly authorised.
- Do not use the platform for fraud, scams, unlawful goods/services, spam, malware or data scraping.
- Do not misuse leads, repeatedly harass users who decline, or sell user contact information.
- Do not evade a suspension by creating duplicate or false accounts.
11. Consequences of Breach
Depending on seriousness, history and risk, TruLink may provide guidance, issue a warning, remove content, require corrective action or re-verification, restrict features, temporarily suspend a profile or permanently terminate access. Serious fraud, threats, violence, theft, identity deception or unsafe unlawful activity may result in immediate suspension and, where appropriate, referral to competent authorities.
12. Provider Commitment
By maintaining a provider account, you agree to follow this Code, the Provider Agreement and all other applicable TruLink terms. TruLink may update the Code as marketplace risks, service categories and legal requirements evolve.
